Admissions Consultation

In line with DFE guidance, we are currently consulting on changes to our admissions policy.  The consultation will run until 18 December 2024.  If you have a comment, please see details below.

CONSULTATION ON ADMISSIONS ARRANGEMENTS FOR ENTRY TO ALL SCHOOLS WITHIN SHINE ACADEMIES FOR ENTRY IN SEPTEMBER 2026

The attached policy will replace the existing admissions policy and bring all schools within SHINE Academies in line with each other.

Proposed Admissions Policy 2026-27

 

This consultation follows the procedure set by the Admissions Code 2021 (‘The Code’) and gives the local community the opportunity to provide their views on these proposed admission arrangements.

This consultation relates to proposed clarification and amendment of the following issues.

Change to the oversubscription criteria which places children of members of staff at the school as priority four in the oversubscription criteria (this is a change for Busill Jones Primary and Lodge Farm Primary School only. Priority is already given to children of staff at Villiers Primary School and Northwood Park Primary School in the current Admissions policies for Northwood Park Primary School and Villiers Primary School)

Formatting changes to the Trust standard format.

A move from a school specific policy for the four schools in the Trust, to a Trust-wide policy for all schools within SHINE Academies.

 

We are keen to hear views from the local community who are likely to be affected by the proposed changes and are consulting interested parties in accordance with the Admissions Code.

For schools, if appropriate and by whatever means you feel most suitable, please make the parents/carers of children in your school aware that this consultation is taking place.

The statutory consultation period will run from midday on Wednesday 6 November 2024 to 5pm Wednesday 18 December 2024.
